Well, it appears my desktop finally took a shit on me. I shut it down around 1:30 this afternoon, and when I fired it back up around 6pm the display on the monitor was all screwy. Colors were way off, lines all over the place like an old antenna tv, wouldn't let me change resolution or anything, etc.

Figured it had to be one of 3 things...

1. Video Card
2. Monitor
3. graphics processor on the motherboard

Swapped out the video card with a spare I had laying around and that didn't help any. ran down and borrowed a spare monitor from a friend and tried it...that didn't fix anything either. Guess it's the motherboard....dammit!

Fortunately I was able to back-up some of my stuff before it totally quit working. got all my important work files and my pictures, but it totally went before I could back-up my MP3's, address book and bookmarks.

So for the time being my laptop is going to have to serve as my main computer. Considering I hate trying to type on this thing and trying to do design work on it really sucks, I'll probably be more grumpy than usual until I can get a new desktop.

You've been forewarned!

There is a large portion of members from Ohio and resounding areas on the Biker Sites web site,My question is why is there never anyone posting rides,no one seams to try to plan, put together, post,pm or even make a phone call to talk about actually going on a ride, there are a few that do post or call,Some are just to far away for a day ride, and no one can make all the rides I understand this...but 870 members and 332 active members?you would think that there would be a lot of riding going on,I enjoy meeting people, getting invites to ride,We have some great riding areas around.Hell southern and eastern Ohio are famous for there roads.
Summer is all but over, school starts up in a couple weeks for most which stops a lot of trips, how many rides where you invited on and how many times did you post a ride.I'm talking about just getting together and riding , not Poker Runs for waywardly nuns or abates give me your money runs, just like minded people making a choice to ride.Maybe I just aint takin the hint , wrong antiperspirant or something,If other riders don't know where your going they cant make an effort to meet ya there.........just my little rant, nothing personal.

I love how a simple task can unleash a plethora of obstacles- turning a 20 minute job into possibly a week of headaches! ............. i just received some short shocks today in the mail- my plan was to remove the struts off the sporty (as it is now the wifes bike) and replace them with these new 10 inch shocks- easy enough right???? wrong- turns out i will now have to get to the hardware store for an extra washer or two- not a big deal- but then the custom liscence plate bracket/tail light will not fit with the new shocks!!!!

faced with a delima- new mount? new light? UGH!!!! the fender is chopped- so it has to go on the side- what an ass pain!!!

anyway--- hope ya get some humor outa this--- as i know everybody has dealt with something simialar!!!
im out- back to the drawing board-

respects
Dave
