After a couple of days reading the threads available to me I started to get a bit concerned.
My shrink at the VA told me to be careful because there are other people out there that think the way I do. I always thought she was saying that just to scare me.
Since I now know she was telling me the truth maybe you guys will let me sit in the corner and enjoy the organized chaos.
I got my first bike in 1966. It was a '47 Flathead 45". Owning a harley at the age of 16 made me feel cooler than James Dean. I've been riding since.
I don't know how many miles I put on my bike each month but my Shovelhead is my primary transportation and it's a 40 mile round trip from my house to the nearest grocery store, (we live an old church on 5 acres about 20 miles from the nearest town) Any other stops while in town can add up the miles pretty quick.
I turned 60 last Sunday so I am slowing down a bit from the riding I used to do but as a member of the US Defenders I travel pretty much all over Texas working with bikers rights organizations. Me and the OL' put a little over 1,300 miles on the Shovel last month as combined mileage for two weekend runs alone.
I don't know how much knowledge I can contribute to this forum but I think there is much knowledge I can gain while having a hell of a lot of fun doing it.
