I don't know, I think what people commonly refer to the "liberal media" is just misconceived as a massive push towards liberal ideals. I think people are getting tired of living under the yoke of religious right wing conservatives, who'd make breathing illegal if they could think of a reason why it's sinful and immoral. On the other hand, liberals can be pretty ridiculous as well. This country thinks too much in extremes - you're either extreme one way or extreme the other. There doesn't seem to be a middle anymore.
